Student Help Positions
The Department of Chemistry is always looking for dedicated students to fill its many openings for student help of both workstudy and non-workstudy status. We have positions in the following areas:

Office Assistant - 734.487.0106
Involves working with the department secretaries in preforming standard office tasks such as filing, answering the phones, typing, etc.. Must have good communication skills. Experience with microcomputers, excel and word is desirable.
Lab Prep. Assistant - 734.487.2207
Involves working with chemicals and associated equipment to make up and transport solutions to and from the teaching laboratories. Minimal chemistry background knowledge is expected, a more advanced background and/or experience is desirable and will increase starting pay.
Stockroom Assistant - 734.487.0334
Involves working in the receiving area, unpacking and cataloging items received from outside vendors. Must posess good organizational skills. No experience necessary.
Purchasing Assistant - 734.487.0334
Involves performing routine office tasks as well as extensive data entry. Must have experience with microcomputers, excel and word. Excellent communication and organizational skills expected.
Laboratory Teaching Assistant - Dr. Rengan 734.487.0086
Involves assisting the faculty in teaching chemistry laboratories. Undergraduates must have strong chemistry background
(Juniors and above only).
