Graduate assistantships provide financial support for the most qualified graduate students, in return for service rendered to their chosen departments. The purposes of the program include the following:
- Allow graduate students to undertake full-time study while simultaneously making timely progress toward obtaining their degree.
- Enhance the graduate student with valuable work experience. Applications are competative, and involve a contract for a stated time period, subject to renewal based on work and academic performance, needs, and availability of resources.
